Return of the Living Dead (sort of)

15x21, oil on illustration board

So some may remember that last year I did a cover for a collection of zombie stories put out by Night Shade Books called The Living Dead. Though it had originally been a simple matter of convenience, my zombies in that painting were modeled after other artists. Well as luck would have it, I was asked to illustrate the cover for the follow-up and the deadline happened to fall a little after Illuxcon 2, which presented a great opportunity to continue the zombie artist tradition. This time around, my zombies are (counting heads from left to right): Daren Bader (http://www.darenbader.blogspot.com/), Cynthia Sheppard (www.sheppard-arts.com), Ian Miller (http://www.ian-miller.org), Omar Rayyan (http://www.studiorayyan.com), Scott Altman (http://www.scottaltmann.com), Jordu Schell (http://schellstudio.com), Brom (http://www.bromart.com), and Zelda Devon (http://www.teeteringbulb.com)

Thanks again guys :D

I just finished the 100th piece in my series of postcard nudes! Not to suggest that it's finished, just marking the occasion ;)

Visions of Never

this is kind of a side post, but Pat Wilshire (founder of the upcoming Illuxcon) was good enough to share a sneak peek at his new book Visions of Never with me recently and now I'm really eager to get my own copy :)

The book features six fantasy illustrators (Paul Lehr, Don Ivan Punchatz, Richard Bober, Robh Ruppel, Marc Fishman, and Mark Zug), a couple of whom I hadn't even been aware of prior to seeing the book but their contributions are all beautiful. Anyhow, just giving Pat a little plug here. See you at Illuxcon!

New work

Gah, feels like forever! I've been plenty busy, though there are only a couple things I can post here at the moment:

also, check the new issue of Heavy Metal out next time you're at the store. It's my first cover for them and I'm really happy with how it came out! Very exciting :D

if you'll step this way...

In an effort to keep things a little tidier and updates more frequent, I've decided to open a new blog devoted entirely to my postcards and nudes. Check over at postcardnudes.blogspot.com for any future work in that series, while this blog will continue to focus on my illustration work, gallery events, and any other odds and ends that don't involve tiny paintings of naked women ;)

But as a proper send off, a few recent pieces:
